Wishing you all some sparkle this holiday! Tried my hand at edible candied flowers for the Christmas cake: roses, rose geranium and lemon verbena.

Inspired by a teal succulent with rosy-lavender-peach edges. A customer wanted Teal (not a common flower color), but the challenge resulted in a favorite bouquet.

Dinnerplate Dahlias, like ‘Shiloh Noelle’, are the celebrities of August. I am also in love with the fluffy paintbrush-like American Basketflower, grown for the first time this year.

Garden Magic 🪄 presents: Cobaea scandens! A stunner from Mexico. I started this vine from seed two years ago and, frankly, it seemed a dud, a few straggly 1-ft tendrils. I wondered what color the “cup and saucer” flowers would be because I saw pictures with various shades of purple, violet and lime. And now this year I know: all those colors, on one vine! A vine that is reaching past 15 feet.
